Repair your Skin with these Home Remedies

We are all looking for ways to keep our skin healthy and glowing. There are hundreds of products out there that promise you younger and healthier looking skin, but not all of them work. What we don’t realize is that there are several home remedies already available to us that can do the job. Unlike the creams and lotions that you are looking to try, these do not have any unpleasant side-effects. Let’s take a look at some simple tips that can keep your skin young and healthy:

Lemon Juice

Lemon Juice

Lemons contain vitamin C, which carries anti-oxidizing properties. Its bleaching action can work wonders on freckles and age spots as well. Vitamin C also increases the production of collagen. Collagen is a protein that helps keep our skin firm. As our skin ages, the collagen gets depleted and as a result, it loses its elasticity and starts to sag.

This can be remedied easily though. Simply squeeze a fresh lemon and rub the lemon juice on your face and neck. Rinse after 5 to 10 minutes. Repeating this process 2 to 3 times a day can increase the production of collagen, make your skin firm again, and reduce signs of aging.

Olive Oil

Olive oil carries powerful antioxidants like Vitamin A and Vitamin E. These have anti-aging properties and can help restore smoothness to loose and wrinkled skin. It also gives your skin a healthy glow. Using olive oil as a home remedy for younger looking skin is easy. Simply heat up the oil a little in the microwave. Test to make sure it is not too hot before massaging your face with it for 10 minutes.

You can also use avocado oil, jojoba oil, almond oil, or coconut oil. These are also good for your arms and legs. Coconut oil, for example, can help moisturize your skin and give it a soft and young appearance.

Papaya Mask

Papaya

Papaya is rich in vitamin A and can be used as a home remedy for healthy skin. As we mentioned earlier, vitamin A has anti-oxidizing properties that are great for your skin. Payapa also contains the enzyme Papain. This enzyme can digest the dead cells present on the surface of your skin and make it more firm and elastic.

To make a papaya mask, slice a few pieces of papaya remove the seeds and mash them together until you get a smooth paste. Apply the paste on your face and wash with warm water after 15 minutes.

Rose Water

Rose water can be used as a cleanser. It shrinks skin cells and closes skin pores. It can also remove the dirt that clogs these pores and fight minor skin infections. Using rose water can give your skin a firm and taut look. It can also reduce the puffiness under your eyes.

You can wash your face with rose water before you go to bed. You can also prepare a mask containing rose water and a few drops of almond oil. Apply the mask on your face and rinse with warm water after 20 minutes.

To Sum It Up

There are several other home remedies for younger and healthier looking skin. Cucumber, baking soda, and cinnamon are only a few more to name. Many of them can also be used as natural skin moisturizers. The best part is that they have no side-effects and using them regularly as part of your skin-care routine can be extremely beneficial.
